Now it's time to get your Facebook event page ready before your guests "arrive"! Remember, you are NOT adding any guests to the event page yet. Before you do, let your sponsor and team leader check it over. Once they do, remember you'll only be adding people who responded, “YES” to your message asking if they’d like to be invited!

Follow these directions and/or watch the video below!

• Open Facebook.
• Click ‘Home’ at the top.
• In the menu on the left, click ‘Events’.
• Click ‘+ Create Event’.
• Choose ‘Private Event’.
• Add a cover photo to the event: Click here to choose and download one or ask your sponsor for one.
• Event Name: You want it to be very clear who this is for and what it’s about! ‘Lauren’s Book Party on Facebook!’ is my go-to because it’s super clear.
• Location: You can leave this blank!
• Enter the date and time of the party. Don't set an end time.
• Description: Click here for a sample you can copy and tweak!
• UNCHECK the box that says, ‘Guests can invite friends.” If you allow guests to invite friends, you run the risk of one of the guests “helping” you by spam inviting all of their friends (which is NOT going to help you, trust me!).
• Click ‘Create’.
• Admire your work! Your party’s been created! Now find ‘Write Post’. You’re going to add your first post! Choose a picture of your family, your kids reading, some of your favorite Usborne books (this can be one picture or multiple pictures) and add them to the post by clicking on the camera and uploading them. Then add text to your post! Say hello, welcome your guests, thank them for planning to attend, and explain why you love these books so much! Here is an example of what it could sound like:

Hi, everyone!! Thank you so much for planning to attend my book party! This is the party page, where all the posts and interaction will be. I am so excited to share all of my favorites with you. We LOVE these books because they are so different in quality, content, construction and variety than any of our other books. If you haven’t yet, I know you will fall in love with them, too. I’m here to help guide you to the perfect finds for the kids in your life, so don’t hesitate to tag or message me! I’ll give away prizes for participation, so be sure to like and comment on everything! Thanks again… I can’t wait!
